Bullet Journalling - what is this all about? Some may ask.
It was about last year that I came across some of the really pretty bullet journals on Pinterest when I was searching for inspirations. These bullet journals caught my eyes so dear, that I began researching deeper on this new organizing concept and eventually, started organizing my schedules and tasks with it.

Bullet Journalling is a type of analogue planner that helps people organize their life through writing, sketching and planning. It all started out from Ryder Carroll whom first introduced bullet journalling with the incorporations of a diary, planner, sketchbook and to do lists.

It is highly customizable to suit your needs. This book is yours. And it doesn't need to be perfect.

Here are some of the stationaries that I have been using to create my bullet journal.
It doesn't need to be fancy nor expensive to be able to create pretty bullet journals. It just got to be practical, useful and easy.

Bidding goodbye to August, my august journal has been rather simple, with only a few tasks/ meetups everyday.

I start off September with a mini calendar overview.

Setting my goals right before the start of September keeps me on track as to what I wish to achieve for the next 30 days, the things I should be focusing on as well as a little "wishlist" on what I wish to get for this month. This gives me something to look forward to and to keep myself on track.

Monthly Log for an overview of what's gonna happen for the month.

I also got some of these bullet journalling layouts and inspirations from pinterest and instagram. You can also kick start this habit by going through some of the bullet journals that others have done, so that you can have an idea on how you wish to organize things with it.

If you do not like fancy bullet journals, nor do you have the time to color or doodle your bullet journal, you can also create your bullet journal in a really simple, fast and minimalist way.

As emphasized, this book is yours.
It doesn't need to be perfect. It only needs to be practical and useful for you.

:)

I love how instant cooked meals are evolving from instant cup noodles to microwaveable meals and now to this. The innovations from people today are astounding and most of all, inspiring.

I've been one of the few who was amused by the recent craze on the internet over this instant mala hotpot, originated from Si Chuan and Chong Qing. The brand "lazy people" illustrated the food trend today for people who are mostly on the go, with little or no time to prepare pipping hot home cooked meals.

This instant mala hotpot is sold on Qoo10, Carousell, Shoppee (and many more) if you wanna get it in Singapore as it has yet to hit the local stores. Priced between $10- $12, it is slightly more on the expensive range for instant foods. I got mine in Malacca when I was there on a short family vacation, sold at 29RM.

How the packaging looks like. Filled with chinese words but they are basically descriptions of the ingredients, nutritional values, shelf life, manufacturing etc etc.

Ingredients consist of 1) soup base, 2) potato starch noodles, 3) assorted vegetables including lotus, black fungus, potatoes and bamboo shoots, 4) quail eggs, 5) beef sausage, 6) sesame oil

The instructions manual given was easy to follow, you just have to dump all the ingredients into the bowl, add 1/3 cup of water, open the heating pack and place it onto the bigger bowl, pour about 1/5 water, cover it with the pot of ingredients, and close the lid for 15 minutes.

And... you're done. :)

Taste Review: 3/5
I considered the taste to be slightly overwhelming, which would probably take sometime for Singaporeans to be used to it. The hotpot was spicy, numbing and best of all, oily......

However, I've been to China quite a few times and I'm convinced that this is how it should taste like, considering the fact that the chinese eat really really spicy and numbing mala hotpot, especially during winter.

Hence, it is worth a try (at least just for once).

Ps: I bought the instant cook beef mala with rice too! Can't wait to try it. :D

A 3D2N short trip to Penang with the family to celebrate dad's 20th Birthday.

I always wanted to go Penang because of how peers around me rave about the good food there, as well as the mural wall arts in their old heritage site. Thus, I got super excited for this trip.

We booked our flights via silkair, and booked our accoms in Hotel Jen.
Since it was so impromptu, the tickets were... not. cheap. But anyways, dad's happy and everything's cool.

Before the trip started, we have our baggage checked and went for lunch at swensens. Dad have to show them his date of birth on his passport to confirm his order as they said they had "limited" servings. But ohwells, since it was his actual day, he got his ice cream!

After an hour of window shopping in the duty free shops, we went to our departure gates to get ready for boarding. It was rather sudden that the SIA engineers found some missing security parts on the plane while they've already seated all guests in the cabin. For a service recovery, we were served juice and we waited for more than an hour before the plane departs.

What a 1 hr 15 mins plane ride food consist of.

Soon after we reached Penang, we took a taxi to our hotel. One glance at the hotel corridor and rooms, I totally fell in love with this place. It was newly renovated, so relevant with the culture in Penang, so clean, and bed so fluffy. :D

I took a snap of this bin because... I LOVE it. It was so cute!!
Tho the hotel encourages separating recycle and non-recycle trash, my parents just throw them anyhow anyway.

Then, we settled for the night at some random shopping mall, and went to the UNESCO - George Town Heritage the next day.

Did some touristy stuff like going to the Upside Down museum, which the photos didn't turn up well. HAHA they hired part time teenagers who made the ambience lively tho.

Dad haz got much feels in this photo.

I was really excited to try their Penang Assam Laksa which first originated at a stall near the Penang  Hill. Butttttttttttt... the one at Malacca Jonker walk was so much nicer :(

On the other hand, I love Penang's kway teow t'ng!! The soup tasted much like.... Bedok 85's bar chor mee?

We headed down to Chou's Jetty Walk, just right at a corner of the George Town Heritage area.
The jetty was pretty interesting, with a mix of shops and residents living together. Because the residents open their doors everyday, we're able to look into how their living space look like. (of course, they have to put a "no photography" sign outside of their homes.

A really pretty view at the end of the Jetty.

It was a breezy day, the sound of the leaves rustled against the wind. I sat down at a random cafe with my notebook and pen, carefully reflecting and planning on the agendas that I should commence on after graduating. The freedom of adulthood was exciting, and there are many things I want to do, many things I wish to achieve, and many people I want to bless with.

I imagine working on a personal portfolio, attending social networking programs to get to know more about others and their aspirations, penning down my thoughts and traveling the world to find myself in my own unique identity.

I think, I thought, I imagined....

No. Scrap that.

It was the same old day, the same old route where I take to work. I could see the familiar faces of the same people waiting for the train. The lady who always waits at the second door of the train with her Ted Baker handbag, and the young man with a mustache fixing his eyes on his iPhone game. After going through 8 hours of work and hopefully a good 1 hour of quality break time spent with our colleagues,  I crashed on my bed at the end of the day, fall deep into slumber and waking up with the same routine the next day.

Everyone I knew was going through the routine, many of us sunk so deeply into the fast pace of our work, the number of documents we have to clear, the clients we have to meet and the targets we got to hit. We all have goals - work goals, that we forgot about the agendas that we used to plan before we enter into adulthood.

Do we have time for that?
